NEAR, MID & FAR INFRARED
What Is Infrared?
Infrared light comes from nature. You’ve felt it your entire life as the healthy and healing light that comes from the sun or from a warm, cosy fire. We cannot see infrared light, but we interact with this form of energy when we feel it as heat.
The sun emits a wide range of light, most of which is invisible to us. Infrared light is just outside of our visible spectrum, next to red light, hence the name ‘infra’, meaning below and ‘red’. Infrared light from the sun is a safe and gentle form of light that brings a myriad of benefits to all living things on earth. The energy it delivers gives just the right nudge that cells need to stimulate warmth, growth and release.
Near, Mid and Far Infrared
Because it’s on a spectrum, infrared light has a range of waves, each with its own category. There are three types based on wave size, frequency, and the amount of energy they carry, near (NIR), mid (MIR) and far (FIR). Each infrared ray does something beautifully unique for our bodies, and for nature.
Infrared is invisible. The evidence is in how your body responds to it.
An infrared sauna utilises near, mid, and far-infrared waves to gently heat the body from within, promoting sweating and providing numerous benefits.
These waves have the ability to penetrate deeply into the skin, muscles, joints, and tissues, enhancing blood circulation and oxygen flow. By targeting impurities at the cellular level, such as cholesterol and heavy metals, these waves also aid in detoxifying the body.
Our sauna operates at cooler temperatures than a traditional sauna, enabling longer sessions and heightened therapeutic effects, making it a viable option for those who are unable to withstand the high heat of traditional saunas.
